WHAT MAKES OUR FORMULAS STAND OUT?
Effective. Eco-friendly. Safe.
The power of phytotherapy and the safety of advanced formulations
OZONATED WATER
We use ozonated water in all our formulas. Ozone is a molecule composed of three oxygen atoms: thanks to its oxidative power, it is considered to be an effective disinfectant, able to kill viruses, bacteria and other contaminants in water in a short space of time, without releasing chemical residues like other commonly used disinfectants. Effective. Eco-friendly. Safe. The power of phytotherapy and the safety of advanced formulations.
INGREDIENTS FROM ORGANIC AGRICULTURE
Many of the functional active ingredients in our formulas are produced using organic agriculture. Selecting organic active ingredients with certified origins means protecting everyone’s well-being, safeguarding the workers who are part of the production chain, and protecting the planet.
A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF INGREDIENTS OF NATURAL ORIGIN
Our formulas contain a high percentage of plant-derived ingredients. On average, over 96% of the total formula is made up of raw materials of natural origin.
NICKEL TESTED
Nickel is a metal naturally present in the earth, in many foods and in the sea, and is particularly concentrated in certain clayey soils. This means it is physiologically absorbed by plants and living beings. However, many people are sensitive to it and it can be an allergen. For this reason, where possible, we nickel test all of our production batches. The details are printed on the individual product labels.
FORMULAS 100% MADE IN ITALY
We proudly export our high-quality cosmetics, made in Italy, to over 58 countries.
OUR FRAGRANCES
For Insight products, we use two types of fragrance:
• Synthetic fragrances: these are formulated to be as gentle as possible on even the most sensitive skin, as the allergens in the perfume are reduced to below the allergenic threshold.
• Natural fragrances: all Cosmos Natural certified products contain perfumes of 100% natural origin, coming from a controlled, sustainable supply chain. They can derive from essential oils, phyto-oils or other perfumed substances, which by their nature may contain allergens.
WHAT IS NOT IN INSIGHT PRODUCTS
Our product formulas are clean. What does that mean for us?
That our finished products contain only the best phyto extracts, coming from controlled supply chains.
Our formulations are studied and developed by our internal Research and Development lab.
SLS/SLES
All of our shampoos are formulated without SLS and SLES (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate), which are surfactants considered aggressive and potentially irritating. We have chosen to replace them with mixes of plant-derived surfactants, calibrated to be both high-performing and gentle on the scalp at the same time. Our Cosmos Natural and ICEA Eco Bio Cosmetics certified cleansing products are dermatologically tested on sensitive skin, so they are suitable for even the most delicate skin.
SILICONES
Silicones are inorganic polymers derived from silicon, which are able to give hair instant shine thanks to their film-forming effect. Particularly when they are present in products that need rinsing out, they can end up in drains and build up in the environment, especially in water, where they remain for a long time. This is why we have eliminated them from our formulations wherever possible.
PARABENS AND MIT
These are preservatives that have long been used in cosmetics, but have recently been at the centre of some controversy. In order to be consistent with our sustainable philosophy, we have chosen to use the same preservatives used in our ICEA and Cosmos certified lines for all our product lines. In particular, depending on the product, we use a biodegradable mix of Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate, or a mix based on Benzyl Alcohol.
ARTIFICIAL COLOURANTS
Insight products are free of synthetic dyes, with the exception of lines in which the colour is a functional part of the product’s use, such as colouring treatments and anti-yellow products.
MINERAL OILS/PETROLEUM DERIVATIVES (PETROLATUM)
These are by-products of the oil refining process, with film-forming properties that can prevent correct oxygenation of the scalp. Despite being inert ingredients which are pretty much skin-friendly, they are a product of oil drilling, which has an extremely high environmental cost. We have chosen to replace them with naturally derived ingredients that still have the same properties but without the negative impact on the ecosystem.
SUSTAINABILITY AND CERTIFICATIONS
Sustainability is not an end point, but a journey, which requires constant updating to make the right choices every time: for the environment, for the economics of production processes, and for people. And we are on our way, at a good pace, taking care to adopt the most eco-friendly solutions that technology can offer us, time after time. We want to make things better together, one step at a time. Here you will find all our certifications in detail, achieved thanks to constant effort to improve our formulas and production processes, and work on reducing our impact.

COMPANY CERTIFICATIONS
CARBON FOOTPRINT
We have been recognised as a Carbon Neutral company, by reducing our CO2 emissions as much as possible and funding offsetting projects to compensate for any so-called unavoidable emissions. This allows us to significantly reduce our carbon footprint.
ISO 9001 (Quality System).
The goal of an ISO 9001 quality system is to ensure that the product complies with the specified requirements. This proves that the company is able to respond consistently and comprehensively to customer expectations and to achieve significant improvements in terms of organizational efficiency and product quality by minimizing waste, avoiding errors, and increasing productivity.
ISO 22716 (GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices).
GMPs are a set of rules that regulate methods, equipment, means and management of production. They guarantee respect for appropriate quality standards. They are aimed at both production and quality control, and are applicable to all cosmetic products, taking into consideration all the factors and operations relevant for the cosmetic products.
ISO 14001 (Environmental System Certification).
It attests the company’s ability to fulfill its environmental policy, implementing monitoring, measurement and reduction actions in terms of emissions, waste production, noise pollution and water. The goal is to minimize the environmental impact of companies and organizations on the territory, encouraging the acquisition of interventions and projects of circular economy.
PRODUCT CERTIFICATIONS
VEGAN OK
All Insight hair products are Vegan OK certified. Buying a product bearing the Vegan OK logo on the label, the consumer receives a guarantee from the manufacturer that the product does not contain animal components and so it did not involve exploitation and killing of animals.
ECO BIO COSMETICS CERTIFICATION
Our Skin and Man lines are certified as Eco Bio Cosmetics by ICEA, the environmental and ethical certification institute, an Italian consortium that certifies companies that operate with respect for the environment, protect workers’ rights and consumer rights, and promote and spread the culture of organic products. This process involves rigorous dermatological testing on the finished product, in order to guarantee pure, skin-friendly formulas that are suitable even for sensitive skin. This means following strict regulations thatbase their principles on the concepts of organic, eco-friendly and natural ingredients.
COSMOS NATURAL CERTIFICATION
This internationally recognised standard was developed by the five main European certification bodies in the organic and natural cosmetics sector, and establishes the requirements to be respected for a cosmetic to be defined as such. The end goal is to promote responsible production and develop more and more natural cosmetic products. Our Sensitive and Lenitive lines are both Cosmos Natural certified.
RSPO - ROUNDTABLE ON SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL
Insight supports the production of sustainable palm oil. We have chosen to follow the standards promoted by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a non-profit association that unites the stakeholders in the palm oil supply chain, with the aim of fighting its unrestricted spread and uncontrolled production, which is putting large areas of rainforest at risk, as well as areas previously used for food cultivation. The standards of the RSPO require the use of certified, sustainable palm oil (CSPO), a solution that is greatly preferable to its substitution with other phyto-oils with a lower yield, whose cultivations could lead to even more soil consumption.
OUR PACKAGING
The eco-sustainability of the Insight project begins with the formulas, but extends to the world of packaging: made with recycled materials or with vegetable origin additives.

OUR PACKAGING
Our packaging choices are the tangible result of our reflection and research over the years, which has led us to choose to package our products in 100% recycled plastic. This solution allows us to reduce our CO2 emissions to a minimum, in particular when it comes to transportation, when compared to other materials with the same capabilities. It also allows us to use materials coming from renewable sources and virtuous sources of recycling, and to sort and reuse packaging at the end of the product’s life, in the spirit of a circular economy - something we are strong supporters of. An example? Our bottles are made by recycling food-grade
plastic bottles.
Plastic is only harmful to the environment when it is disposed of in the wrong way. This is why Insight actively promotes virtuous cycles that have a positive impact on the planet, fuelling conscious behaviours of waste differentiation and recycling, with the aim of reducing the problematic practices that lead to microplastics being released into the ecosystem as much as possible. NOT all plastics are equal, and below we will tell you about the ones we have chosen, using the analytical method of Life Cycle Assessment, which calculates the environmental footprint of a material based on its life cycle.
BOTTLES AND JARS IN 100% POST-CONSUMER RECYCLED PET
PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is a lightweight and durable polyester which possesses an excellent profile from the viewpoint of environmental sustainability thanks to its infinite recycling possibilities. As it is a thermoplastic, it is transformed by heat and can be easily reshaped, again and again. This feature of PET makes it completely recyclable, transformable into rPET. Once it has been correctly sorted, it can be reused to produce more plastic bottles, for energy recovery, or for the production of other commonly used objects.
INSIGHT JARS CAPS
All caps of Insight jars are made of 100% recycled PP (Polypropylene).
TUBES AND THEIR LABELS
We have chosen bioplastic for our tubes and their labels. This is a biobased polyethylene (PE), produced from a renewable source: sugar cane.
LABELS FOR BOTTLES AND JARS
All labels for Insight products in bottles or jars are made from a material with a minimum recycled PET resin content of 25%.
When it comes to our labels, we have joined the RafCycle® programme, which works to recover waste material from labelling.
RafCycle® is an upcycling programme that recovers the rolls from adhesive labels, destined for incineration or disposal in landfills, and transforms them into new materials. This process reduces the amount of waste to be disposed of in landfills, and offers advantages to printers, packagers and other operators in the supply chain.
Thanks to a technologically advanced process, the rolls of siliconised backing paper are recovered and sent for recycling at the UPMpaper mill, to be transformed into new cellulose. Only essential packaging: our products are packaged without boxes Insight has chosen to limit secondary packaging as much as possible, and this is why all our haircare and bodycare products come without cardboard boxes.

Our bottles were designed by us. They feature embossed words that express our philosophy, our approach to cosmetics and our lifestyle
